Join Forté and INSEAD Business School for a lunch-and-learn webinar about the leadership journey. Joanna Kargotich, EMC alumna and Human Resources Director at Google, and Anita Zielina, Executive MBA alumna and Director of Strategic Initiatives at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, will share their personal experiences, and insights on their transformative leadership journeys. You will have the opportunity to ask questions to both panelists.

Joanna Kargotich

Jo is a Director of HR at Verily, an Alphabet company born out of Google’s Health & Life Sciences division. Jo leads a global HR portfolio supporting the Life Sciences, Legal, HR, Finance & International functions. A qualified attorney, Jo also holds a Masters in Coaching for Change from INSEAD university in which she was one of 5 students to receive a distinction for her thesis. Prior to Verily, Jo held multiple senior HR roles at Google supporting some of Google’s senior most executives. Jo relocated her family to the US from Australia 4 years ago. When in Australia, Jo held global HR Director roles within both legal and accounting professional services firms. Outside of work, Jo has two children, 3 chickens, 2 rabbits and a dog and enjoys exploring and traveling with her family as often as possible.

Anita Zielina

Anita Zielina is an experienced digital media executive with a focus on digital transformation, modern leadership, and innovation management. She is currently the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in NYC, where she and her team are responsible for professional training and executive education, as well as new strategic projects.

She launched the school’s Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership in 2019. Before joining CUNY in New York City, she held management roles in various European media organizations and led their transformation efforts.

Her last industry role was as chief product officer and member of the management board at NZZ Media Group in Switzerland, where she was responsible for all digital products. Before that, she was the digital editor and deputy editor-in-chief at STERN, the German weekly news magazine, and reporter and editor at the newspaper DER STANDARD in her hometown Vienna.

Anita was the first Austrian journalist selected for the fully funded Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University, dedicated to entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership in journalism. There, she did research on innovation management in media and user engagement. She also was a visiting fellow at the Reuters Institute at Oxford University, focusing on questions around changing leadership in media. Anita holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD and a Master in Law from Vienna University.

She is a non-executive board member at the Online News Association (ONA) and the Austrian Public Broadcaster (ORF), as well as the inaugural board chair of the News Product Alliance (NPA). She lives in NYC with her husband.
