The webinar will be facilitated by Michelle Friedman, founder of the consulting and coaching firm Advancing Women’s Careers. Michelle works with organizations and individuals on key topics affecting women’s career paths.
Michelle Friedman, Founder, Advancing Women’s Careers
Michelle Friedman is a certified executive coach, organizational consultant, facilitator and speaker with an expertise in women’s career paths. She is the Founder of Advancing Women’s Careers, LLC, a coaching and consulting firm based outside of NYC, which is dedicated to strengthening the pipeline of female leaders in demanding industries. Michelle’s work is grounded in the conviction that building a strong pipeline of female leaders requires a multi-faceted and systems-based approach, combining individual action and organizational change. Michelle has worked with clients in a variety of organizations, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Citigroup, The Wharton School, Credit Suisse, GE Finance, various private equity firms and hedge funds, the National Center for the Arts (Canada) and the Department of Justice (Canada). She also helps to reintegrate professional women back into the workforce after pauses in their career path, and serves as a Special Advisor to iRelaunch.
Anilu Vazquez-Ubarri, Chief Diversity Officer and Global Head of Talent Development, Goldman Sachs
Anilu is Goldman Sachs’ chief diversity officer and global head of Talent Development. She is responsible for evolving and driving the firm’s leadership, talent and diversity strategies as well as ensuring that the firm’s diversity priorities are integrated across all talent initiatives. She chairs the Global Talent Leadership Team and serves as a member of the Human Capital Management (HCM) Operating Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Anilu worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP as an attorney in the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits group. While at Shearman & Sterling, she was a founder of the firm’s women’s network, WISER, and served on the firm’s diversity committee. Anilu earned a JD from Fordham University School of Law in 2002 and an AB, cum laude, in History and Latin American Studies from Princeton University in 1998.
Serina Pak, NORAM Sr. Director, Business Partner Operations at Danone North American Companies
Serina Pak has close to 20 years of Human Resources experience with a specialty in Talent and Organizational Development. In 2010, she joined Dannon full time as the People and Organizational Manager. In January 2015, she was promoted to Senior Director of NORAM Operations HR Business Partner for Danone North America. She currently oversees all HR business partner and organizational development functions in Canada and US for Supply Chain, Operations Project and Performance, seven manufacturing plants as well as the HR staff for Research and Development, Purchasing, and Quality. In addition, Serina leads Danone North America’s Women’s Leadership Network as well as participates in the organization’s Diversity and Inclusion committee. Serina Pak has a BA in Psychology from Dickinson College and a Masters of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven.
Carol Fishman Cohen, CEO & Co-Founder, iReLaunch
Carol Fishman Cohen, CEO of iRelaunch is a leading expert on career reentry. She consults to some of the world’s largest corporations on career reentry strategy and programming. Her seminal Harvard Business Review article “The 40 Year Old Intern” and her TED talk “How to get back to work after a career break” focus on the use of the internship as a vehicle for employers to engage with experienced professionals returning from career break. The iRelaunch Return to Work Conference is the largest and longest running dedicated career reentry event and the major external supplier of successful candidates for the Wall Street reentry internship programs. Carol has presented on career reentry strategy more than 200 times to combined audiences of over 16,000 people. Carol is the co-author of career reentry strategy book Back on the Career Track and a returning professional herself. Carol’s return to work at Bain Capital after 11 years out of the full-time workforce is documented in a Harvard Business School case study. Carol has connected with thousands of professionals who have successfully returned to work after a hiatus, and has engaged with hundreds of hiring managers to understand their perspectives on hiring people returning from career break.
Ellen Williams, Ernst & Young
As a member of the EY Americas Diversity & Inclusiveness Center of Excellence, Ellen is responsible for the co-development and implementation of programmatic workplace solutions designed to help EY’s people succeed personally and professionally. Ellen leads EY’s Today’s Families Network and the Career and Family Transitions coaching program in the Americas. She also co-leads the delivery of Leadership Matters, an inclusive leadership workshop, currently being deployed in the U.S, Canada, South America and Israel. Ellen has focused her 24-year career on workplace culture change management strategies to help build a better working world.
