In general, women tend to be less likely than men to negotiate in financial transactions. This session will focus on the power of financial literacy and using it to your advantage, through the lens of mortgage negotiations. We will discuss the importance of researching your options, the effect of interest compounding, and tips and strategies to improve your negotiation skills to reduce your mortgage rate.
Presenter bio:
Erin Jordan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy. She joined the faculty of the W. P. Carey School of Business and is a proud Sun Devil and W. P. Carey alumna. Dr. Jordan’s primary research interests focus on accounting education. Dr. Jordan serves as faculty director for the full-time, online, evening, and fast-track MBA programs at W.P. Carey. Dr. Jordan earned her Ph.D. in accounting from Arizona State University, Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University, and Bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and biology from Claremont McKenna College.
