In an innovative, entrepreneurial and global business environment, the IMD MBA empowers you to harness your potential and pursue your goals, ready to drive sustainable impact on your career, organization and society.
Our global alumni network has a reputation for being tight-knit and highly supportive. But what is it that makes IMD alumni so responsive? Is it the strength of the bonds created between classmates while they are on campus? Or the personalized aspect of the campus, a place where you are never just a face in the auditorium? Or is it the quality and diversity of students in each program?
This month’s live chat host, Marcella Rispo, will be talking to some of our alumni to get their take on what it is that makes the IMD alumni network so strong.
We hope you will join us for this online event and look forward to your questions.

Professional Access Pass members are invited to this sneak peek of our upcoming Changemakers series!
Anxiety is normal. The way we hide it is not.
Although so much has been done (rightly) to promote diversity and wellness at work, there’s a giant hole in the understanding of how mental health plays into not just our daily grind, but the very trajectory of success.
We’re all in desperate need for better models of leadership – especially in a society that tells us mental health challenges like anxiety and depression are weaknesses.
Morra Aarons-Mele knows that taking your mental health seriously is a leadership strength. With her upcoming book The Anxious Achiever, releasing on April 11, we invite you to join us for a Changemakers discussion on rethinking the relationship between mental health and success.
About Morra Aarons-Mele
Public Speaker | Consultant | Author/Podcast Host
Morra Aarons-Mele is a (mostly) happy, successful person. She also identifies as an extremely anxious overachiever. Even during the best of times, she can be found hiding in a bathroom to avoid people, experiencing a panic attack before a flight, and waiting for bad news to arrive. To normalize anxiety and help others manage theirs, Aarons-Mele launched and hosts The Anxious Achiever podcast for HBR Presents, which was a 2020 Webby Awards Honoree and is a top 10 management podcast and top 50 business podcast. She’s passionate about helping people rethink the relationship between their mental health and their leadership. Her upcoming book on the subject will be published by Harvard Business Review Press in April 2023.
In addition to her work on anxiety, Aarons-Mele founded the award-winning social impact agency Women Online and created its database of female influencers, the Mission List. Geben Communication acquired Women Online and The Mission List in 2021. Morra was named 2020 Entrepreneur of the Year at the Iris Awards, created to recognize excellence in digital parenting media. Before starting her own business, Morra worked in digital marketing and politics, helping Hillary Clinton log on for her first online chat and founding the digital public affairs team at Edelman, where she worked with Fortune 50 clients.
Aarons-Mele is also a prolific writer. Since 2004 she has covered the campaign trail, the White House, the lactation room, and the office cubicle. Her book, Hiding in the Bathroom: How To Get Out There (When You’d Rather Stay Home), was published by Dey Street Books in 2017. She has written for the New York Times, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Slate, InStyle, O, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and the Guardian.
Aarons-Mele has degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School and Brown University. She and Nicco Mele live in Boston with their three children.

Event Details
By now, firms take sustainability seriously. Many of them are integrating sustainability benefits in their new product offerings. Results have been contrasted, however, as many firms face disappointing sales with their new offerings. When this happens, the temptation is large to blame it on the customers, using the “sustainability say-do gap”: customers say they care, but they don’t want to pay for sustainability. While we recognize that this may well happen, we propose that firms may bear some degree of responsibility for their failures. We suggest that they may be making no less than three mistakes and highlight ways to go around them.
Join Frédéric Dalsace, Professor of Marketing and Strategy and host Marcella Rispo, MBA Admissions Advisor, for this chance to participate in a sample class around sustainability and to experience the IMD MBA teaching style for yourself.

Exclusively for Professional Access Pass members
With more employees working remotely or on hybrid schedules than ever before, the look and feel of most workplaces have shifted dramatically in recent years. This can also raise a complicated question for leadership: how do you effectively lead and manage a team working in different locations and potentially even across time zones?
During this webinar, Elena Nescio, a clinical assistant professor in marketing at University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, will offer strategies and research-based best practices for being a strong leader regardless of your environment—hybrid or fully virtual. The last 20 minutes of the session will be a moderator-fielded Q&A.
The session will cover:
- Tips/tricks for building/maintaining strong teams and a strong culture of engagement and productivity
- Creating presence in a low feedback environment, including finding clues and signals to replace in-person nonverbal communication
- Embracing and building empathy in digital workspaces, as screens sometimes interfere with the grace we’d extend to one another in person
- Thinking “beyond the Zoom:” being mindful of your overall digital presence and personality across channels such as Slack, Teams, email, social media, and more
- Unique considerations for women leaders in this new landscape
The webinar is presented by University of Rochester – Simon Business School:
Welcome and introductions by Rebekah Lewin, Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions and Programs

Admit it. At least one time in your life you’ve thought: “I hate networking.” It’s understandable. When we think of networking, we tend to think about awkward moments, slick elevator pitches, pumping fists, and collecting business cards. Yuck. Join Angela Guido of Career Protocol to learn a fun new framework for personal introductions. It will change the way you think about connecting with new professional friends forever and will give you the confidence to introduce yourself to anyone, an indispensable skill as you attend a professional conference, head to business school, and through the rest of your career.
This is the second of a three-part webinar series designed to help prepare Forté conference attendees to confidently take advantage of the conference networking and career opportunities.
The webinar is presented by:
