If the word “networking” makes you nervous, this webinar will shift your perspective. Dr. Marissa King, Professor of Organizational Behavior at Yale School of Management, joins Forté to share how the strength of our relationships and quality of our connections profoundly affect our health, happiness, and career success.
Find out how your extended network can offer valuable support as you develop innovative ideas, explore new career opportunities, and make decisions about your future. Discover how to effectively navigate and maintain your network during the pandemic — and beyond.
This webinar will cover:
- How to overcome common barriers to building a more effective network
- How women’s and men’s networks differ, and what those differences mean for work-life balance and career success
- The surprisingly positive effects of the pandemic on women’s networks
- Why harnessing the untapped value in your existing network is far more important than meeting new people.
The webinar is presented by:
Dr. Marissa King, Professor of Organizational Behavior, Yale School of Management
Marissa King is Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Yale School of Management, where she developed and teaches a popular course entitled Managing Strategic Networks. Over the past fifteen years, King has studied how people’s social networks evolve, what they look like, and why that’s significant. Her most recent line of research analyzes the individual and group-level behaviors that are necessary for large-scale change. Known to use wearable sensors to enhance traditional social science data, King’s research has been featured in outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and on National Public Radio. Her first book, Social Chemistry: Decoding the Elements of Human Connection is coming out in January.
