With more employees working remotely or on hybrid schedules than ever before, the look and feel of most workplaces have shifted dramatically in recent years. This can also raise a complicated question for leadership: how do you effectively lead and manage a team working in different locations and potentially even across time zones?

During this webinar, Elena Nescio, a clinical assistant professor in marketing at University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, will offer strategies and research-based best practices for being a strong leader regardless of your environment—hybrid or fully virtual. The last 20 minutes of the session will be a moderator-fielded Q&A.

The session will cover:

  • Tips/tricks for building/maintaining strong teams and a strong culture of engagement and productivity
  • Creating presence in a low feedback environment, including finding clues and signals to replace in-person nonverbal communication
  • Embracing and building empathy in digital workspaces, as screens sometimes interfere with the grace we’d extend to one another in person
  • Thinking “beyond the Zoom:” being mindful of your overall digital presence and personality across channels such as Slack, Teams, email, social media, and more
  • Unique considerations for women leaders in this new landscape
