Join us to hear from a panel of experts on the topic of career pivots. We will discuss everything from how to handle a layoff, to reframing your mindset when your dream offer doesn’t come to fruition.

Lori Itagaki Lori Itagaki
Senior Director, Learning & Organizational Development for Hallmark Media

With over 13 years of experience in human resources, Lori has held various HR roles across media and technology companies including ByteDance (TikTok), Disney, and Activision Blizzard. She is currently the Senior Director, Learning & Organizational Development for Hallmark Media where she gets to align her passion for career development, talent management, and organizational development with her love for Hallmark Movies. Lori was a Forté Foundation Fellow and received her MBA from USC Marshall School of Business in 2015. She lives in Los Angeles, CA.

Abby Pollard
Director, Full-MBA Career Education and Coaching, UT-Austin, McCombs School of Business

Abby leads a team of career consultants to engage, educate, and prepare McCombs full-time MBA students to reach their career goals across a wide range of industries and functions. She is especially passionate about supporting women and people of color in the job search process. Prior to becoming the Director of the Full Time MBA Career Education & Coaching team, Abby served full-time MBA students for the past 5 years with a particular focus on finance, cleantech, and real estate. Prior to joining the full-time MBA team in 2017, she worked with specialty Master of Science students in the Business Analytics, Finance, and Marketing programs at Texas McCombs. Before joining McCombs, Abby recruited MBA students at campuses nationwide for a global investment management firm. She has nearly 12 years’ experience working in various corporate environments and industries. She holds a Master of Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and an undergraduate degree in psychology from DePaul University in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Mark Strassman
Endowed Blaser Family Executive Director, F. David Fowler Career Center, The George Washington University School of Business

Mark Strassman is the Endowed Blaser Family Executive Director of the F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB). Mark comes to GWSB from Anderson Knight, LLC, a Washington, D.C. metropolitan area business consulting and executive search firm he founded in 1999. The firm specializes in the financial and accounting sectors. Mr. Strassman has expertise in the areas of entrepreneurship, career development, human-resource management and strategic business planning. As executive director of the FDFCC, Mr. Strassman oversees a function that provides vital student services that advance students’ personal, academic, and career goals. He is responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of ongoing career initiatives and providing effective, high-quality, leadership to the FDFCC team. Mr. Strassman also works to facilitate the creation of new and enhanced student opportunities and experiences in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
